Compression? How does it work? :-Thermoregulation:
(Keeping your body at its correct operating temperature)
The body operates best when at the right temperature, your muscles must
be kept warm for optimal performance and to avoid injury, but
overheating is just as bad, it puts stress on your heart and slows your
reactions. We believe that thermoregulation is one of the
most beneficial features of wearing compression garments but is often
overlooked.
The main difference between these tight fitting garments and regular
clothing is their ability to efficiently wick perspiration from the
skin. This is achieved by the use of moisture wicking fabrics
and the garments tight fitting nature. Unlike other
breathable garments such as quick dry t-shirts you do not get
perspiration pooling on the skin. This means that in hot
climates your bodies cooling system continues to work efficiently and
that in the cold you are not wearing wet clothing therefore will stay
warmer.
Base layer garments Regulate body temperature, Compress core muscles
and aid Recovery. They are not simply for top athletes
though. Performance baselayers benefit everyone, from the
supreme athlete to the occasional fell walker.
Compression Base Layers are state-of-the-art garments designed to
regulate body temperature and reduce the build-up of lactic acid by
compressing the muscles before during and after physical
exercise. Scientists have shown that in reducing the build up
of lactic acid during and following exertion, an athlete’s recovery
rate is greatly enhanced and their susceptibility to injury greatly
reduced.
By compressing the muscle groups during and after exercise, you are
also helping to protect them from potential damage and thereby making
your athletic performance better.
In General:-
Reduce muscle movement and vibration and focus the direction of the
muscle
Reducing the risk of sports injuries
Maintaining body temperature and moisture wicking
Reducing the build up of Creatine kinase which is an indicator of
muscle tissue damage.
Reducing the time taken for muscles to repair themselves[3]
Reducing muscle soreness during post workout recovery
